I've always wanted to be a season ticket holder for the Kings. I figure since things can only get better from here, why not start in 2008-2009.
But there doesn't seem to be a clear answer to, "How much will season seats cost?"
I'd like to try the 200's if they aren't too expensive, maybe the first few rows of the 300s if something like that is available. Do you guys know approximately what the damage would be for two seats in that range?
Whats the process for getting season tickets? Pay a deposit now, then select a seat before the season starts? Is the priority based on how many years you've been a season seat holder? Will there be very many good seats left available to the newbies?
What is that, 40 home games? Do most season ticket holder attend all of the games? If I can't make it, how easy is it to unload a ticket at face value?
Is it worth it?
I hope I can get more use out of this than my season pass to Bear Mtn.
It has been a long time since I have had season tickets, but......
The way it normally works is there is a waiting list for seats. When season seats become available, say in the 200's, those STH's that have been around the longest get first crack at updating their seats. So, if you are looking at getting new ST's don't expect the best seats.
Contact the Kings office, they should be able to help out....
Sect 301 which is the best 300 seats in my opinion b/c you get a perfect center ice view. They are kinda expensive, but they are worth it. You're looking at about $2000 total for both seats. give or take $20

100's center - $95.50 per seat
100's everywhere but ends or center - $75.50 per seat
100's ends - $53.50 per seat
200's - $42.50 per seat
300's middle - $23.50 per seat
300's corner/ends - $19.50 per seat
300's ends (diehard) - $12.00 per seat

Pay deposit, attend Select A Seat, select payment method at select a seat. (You can pay all up front, pay half now and half in one month or do 8 month payment plan). Priority based so you will have to get there early when it's your time and get to your seats quick because the good ones tend to disappear quickly if you're a first-year STH.

Depends on where you sit. I sit in 100's ends and I get face value back almost 90% of the time. I don't think you can say that if you're in 200's or 300's but it all depends on team performance.

In 2009 it will be and I'll be smiling then as my seat location will get closer and closer to the ice as more STH's cancel after this year and possibly next year.
It's definitely worth it if you can afford it. There's nothing like seeing hockey live, even if the good team happens to be the other team that night.
Select-a-Seat is great. You can go and sit in every available seat that interests you, check out the sight lines and choose the one you like the best. Your priority will move up every year. My priority took a nice bump up last year and I'm sure it will again this year. I'm already up to the first day folks choose seats which is up from the last session on the 3rd day when I first got seats back in 2003-2004.
For the 200's, 214 or 219 are best. They are on the corners where the Kings shoot twice. Lots of STH's sit in those two sections.
I never have a problem getting face value or close to it (certainly paid value) for any tickets I sell for games I can't make so long as I try to sell them in advance.
Congrats!

You don't need to apologize. The Kings sales people should establish a FAQ page under the Tickets section of the Kings website.

Historically, there's always been a color-coded (by zone) seating chart on their webpage that shows ticket prices for individual game tix vs. half-seson plan vs. full-season plan. My just-completed 60-second tour of the Tickets section of kings.nhl.com did not reveal that color-coded seating chart.
Hmmmm .... maybe the rumors of a franchise move to the new Kansas City arena are coming true ....

Until a championship is won, you shouldn't count on getting more than 1/2 to 2/3 of face value (if that). I know I wouldn't bother buying tix on eBay or craigslist unless I was getting some kind of discount.

I love hockey, morning, noon, and night, but I've been bored this year watching a whole season's worth of 40 games from the same seats. Variety is the spice of life, so in the future I'll be going back to what I've done in the past: relying on some combination of scalpers, eBay, LGK ticket forum, etc., .... and when worst comes to worst, the box office.
Make sure when you go to Select-A-Seat that whatever seats you look at getting, have someone sit in the seat in front of you leaning as far forward as a human possibly can without fallling off the seat. Then imagine the whole row in front of you doing that before you decide on those seats. You'll thank me later.

Very good helpful post all around The Natural. However, that's the pricing for this season. They apparently took it out on the Kings main website because they're going to change it.
With the Kings being complete crap this year and last year... you'd think the obvious choice is to make it cheaper next year. Sadly, I don't want to jump on speculations or create false rumor, but I really think that the prices will go up for some crazy reason they will not explain.
Keep in mind that from last year to this year... the season prices didn't change, but individual prices jumped up.
This was the change in individual prices this year compared to last year. I will list the individual prices of last year to this year using The Natural's format.
Remember. They made it more expensive after a losing season last year. Why should we expect anything different going into next year?
I'll probably get Die Hard seats though next year (for playoff priority if we make it). But I've saved so much more already this year just buying from Ebay. Out of the 30+ home games so far this year... I have only missed about 7-8 games.

Their attendance was astonishingly good for a last-place team that hasn't sniffed the playoffs since the smoke was still clearing from 9/11. Any other non-traditional hockey town would be lucky to have 8,000 bodies in the building under such circumstances. They'll raise ticket prices because you'll still pay them.
