About This Page: This is a discussion on LA Kings Talk within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. Kings need winning with the players like Kopitar, Brown, and Johnson now. A winning attitude is needed. Not a draft pick.
We are only 12 points out of a playoff spot with 29 games left... Even though everyone has already counted us out of contention. We actually aren't. So screw him... unless we tank bigtime in the next 10 games or so. Then STAMKOOSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.
The only thing the Kings will be awarded this season will not be a playoff berth, but a top 5 pick. At this point, I'm ok with that. For the most part, I like the way the team is playing now ( last night's game was ugly though). I look forward to the playoffs next year. One thing I am liking is that it appears that Crawford is giving Johnson more freedom to carry the puck and create chances.
Hopefully, next year, DL will be able to get rid of some dead weight (Willsie, Armstrong, etc.) and add a few quality, gritty players via UFA or trade to fill those roster spots.

I personally, 100% guarantee we will not make the playoffs this year and I am willing to make a bet with anyone who thinks we will. We wont even finish 9th. Or 10th. Or 11th. That's right. I've called it all season long.
The idea of finishing 12th so you can feel good about yourself for a few weeks and then lose the possibility of drafting a seriously talented player like Stamkos (or a few others) is IDIOTIC. I'm sorry... but the continuing short-sightedness of some people amazes me... these are the same people who will complain that 'our drafting sucks' or that 'Kings management sucks'
How did Pittsburgh turn its team around? They SUCKED for a few years, got a ton of good prospects because of their superior drafting position, and now look, they have a great future. The Kings are already CLOSE to them. But we still have a few missing pieces. We are missing Stamkos.
