Mick McGeough, the ref who everybody loves to hate gets to close the season out for the kings!! I must say this guy has caused me drink a little more then i should during games. Oh well...so long don't let the door kick you on the way out!!!
Don't know if this was visible on the broadcast, but after the Duck penalty about a minute in to the 3rd, Thornton skated over to McGeough, took off his glove, and shook his hand.
I'm not sure if what was said, but Thornton is likely to retire this year, too. Maybe it was just a thank you/congratulations from one veteran to another. Classy on Thornton's behalf.
After the game every single King went over and shook his hand, very classy. Like 5 Ducks shook his hand. Props to the Kings, love him or hate him, he was in the league longer than most players. Good on the Kings.
