It could happen. Don't think the points in a season will happen though, if it does, not for 1 or 2 seasons. The career totals though, I just don't think that will happen, period.
The year that Luc broke the record the NHL average game total was 7.2 goals. This season an NHL game average is 5.6 goals a game. Hence, harder to score in today's NHL.
An NHL where goalie pads are huge and every goaltender is adequate in the butterfly to take away almost all low percentage shots... "New NHL" or not, goals are still much much harder to come by in this era.

Wow guess your right. I would've thought it would be easier in the "new" NHL but i guess not.
