About This Page: This is a discussion on LA Kings Talk within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. If Rob Blake squashes a trade that DL has put together, would he be welcome back next year as a player or down the road?
Would it have any impact
My guess is that DL would have a list of places that Blake would wave his NTC for and if DL was going to put together some sort of trade, it would be one of those teams.
DL is not going to waste his time putting together some sort of a deal with a team before talking to Blake about it first.

100% agree. Blake will give DL a list of 4-6 teams that he would accept being traded to. The Ducks and Sharks will be on the list for sure.
if blake waives his ntc there is nothing lombardi can say or do. nor, imho, should he punish blake. he was the one who signed blake to the contract with the ntc afterall. having said that, i think blake is going to work with lombardi and be back in a kings uniform next season.
Whether Blake is welcome back, entitled to front office opportunities, or gets his jersey retired has NOTHING to do with whether he waives his NTC.
Being popular isn't necessarily a criteria for non player employment with the organization.
You are twisted for suggesting as much..
Twisted?? LOL.!
If Blake were to pull back on a trade that DL makes, like last year, you don't think DL and RH would be upset. Why would they reward this person with a position on the team?
Being popular has EVERYTHING to do with Luc and his position., and not his imaginary doctorate in Business.

Welcome to the real world...
Dude,
Lombardi already knows what teams Blake will agree to go to. DL isn't going to make a trade and then go to Blake hoping he'll give it the thumbs up.
I agree with you about Luc. Luc is going to be a hall of famer. Blake isn't IMO. But if you think for one second that the Kings are going to be so unprofessional as to require Blake to agree to a trade in exchange for a promise to give him a front office job when his career ends, then you need to put down the crack pipe.
You don't even know that Blake wants a front office job when his playing career is over.

Would it have any impact on jersey retirement plans, future front office opportunities?
Blake is not Luc when it comes to popularity among Kings fans, so it's not as though he is a lock for a post Kings job.
I think it would be difficult for DL or Hextall to offer Blake a job down the road if he doesn't work with them on a trade again this year.
Thoughts../
Who wrote the contract? The team. Who offered it to Blake? The team.
Now, if the team decides that they don't want to live up to the terms of the contract that THEY wrote and THEY offered, it's BLAKE's problem?? What kind of stupid-ass logic is that?
Seriously, there are people here who will be so blinded by their hatred of Blake, they will resort to some of the most illogical and retarded arguments to support it.
If Blake agrees to waive his NTC, the team should be grateful to him.
If Blake does not, well then the Kings will have learned a lesson: don't offer contracts with NTCs to guys you plan on trading before that contract expires.
