It is leverage that Lombardi can use, and Blake would consider a return to the Kings because he and his wife love living in their beachfront house.

I doubt that there is as much animosity between Lombardi and Blake though. Blake and Lombardi both want what is best for the Kings' future. If that means Blake changing his address for a few months, I bet he is willing to do it.

Although quash might be more semantically correct I think squash works in this context.

Possibly, but I find that is often used incorrectly by uneducated people much like the phrase "statue of limitations" is.
