Quote:
Rob Blake may interest the Wings among others, the Blackhawks are on the hunt for a puck-moving defenceman and the Bruins could be a team to watch because they have loads of room to manoeuvre under the cap.

AROUND THE RINKS
- Red Wings D Chris Chelios is apparently trying to convince the Wings to add Kings D Rob Blake, who has a no-trade clause and will be an unrestricted free agent in the summer. The Detroit News has San Jose, Colorado, the New York Rangers, Montreal and New Jersey being linked to Blake.
- The Toronto Sun reports that Kings GM Dean Lombardi wants a player, a prospect and a first-round pick for Blake, while noting that the Kings are also shopping LW Ladislav Nagy, D Brad Stuart and D Jaroslav Modry.

- According to the New York Post, the Devils are looking for a power play quarterback on the blueline, which could include Blake with Nagy or Stuart also holding some appeal. The paper figures that the Devils would have to offer the likes of David Clarkson, Andy Greene or prospect Matt Halischuk in a deadline deal.
green doesn't impress me much from the games i've seen him play in. there is no one on their roster that i would want other than the players that they obviously wouldn't want to give up. we go to edmonton, there's the likes of stoll, smid, greene, even Pitkanen is a player we can snag.
Clarkson and Green are nice/decent players. I like the physical edge that Clarkson brings to the table and Green has a nice all around game but I would think we could get a bit more in terms of overall talent for Blake.
Blake's old but he can still move the puck and be successful on the PP. Those types of guys seem to be overvalued at the deadline. I'd hope we could land a bit more for Blake.
