With a lame effort, you would expect us to roll over. Ivanans proved you can beat us, but we will hurt and embarass you. Somehow Raitas hurt his eye, but he definitely dished more than he received. One of the hardest punches you will ever see ends this fight. Cudos to R.I.
Carcillo should of been more carefull when Ivanans is on the ice altho he didnt pose any threat to Kopitar Ivanans still jumped inbetween. And why he went after Ivanans is beyond any logic there sure was no nasty play, atleast not so nasty as the knockout punch after that. he learned the rules of engagement the hard way (dont go after Ivanans...checked).
Ivanans took direct slapshot by one of the hardest shots in NHL straight to the face and didnt fall off... he may not be made of iron, but he sure apears like it. He deserves appreciation and respect, taking hits to the face by NHL toughest is a tough job and someone has to do it... Respect.

I wasn't at the game, but I wonder if the shot "rang" off his face in the same way an errant shot rings off the post.

heh there was no distinct sound, and i think he got surgical steel after that shot, but let me tell u that if I got that puck in my face the only steel I would need would be bolts in my cofin.
Carcillo was baiting Ivanans all night. I'm surprised it took til the 3rd for the fight to happen. Best part about the fight aside from the big punch? Seeing Carcillo in the box later on with a bag of ice to his face. Almost looked like those joke videos they put up when someone goes to the box. Good stuff.
