About This Page: This is a discussion on LA Kings Talk within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. now don't let this curl your chonies and s***, it's JUST A QUESTION!
in fact, it could actually probably deviate into an NHL talk topic if we started

in fact, it could actually probably deviate into an NHL talk topic if we started discussing whether or not we think ANY team would be smart or not to give it a go.
okay, there is currently a discussion on HF about where they think Marian Hossa will go in the off-season. as per usual, homer speculation and the opportunity to play with a sibling are rampant. a few Penguins fans however seem to think that not only is it workable for Marian to re-sign in Pittsburgh, but that Shero was under pressure to get the deal made and will subsequently also be compelled to make every attempt to sign him.
now... THIS is what caught my eye

Their key RFA is MA Fleury, but he's not going to break the bank.
do you as General Manager of the Los Angeles Kings tender Marc-Andre Fleury an offer sheet?
i hope you please refrain from answering with the whole "goaltending isn't a/hasnt' been the problem" s*** or the he'll get in Bernier's way thing.
i know the general take on Fleury and struggles and questions about his ability to get it done. but he IS still 23-years old and WAS taken 1st overall... bad choice to take him #1? probably. but there had to be something there with this kid.

I'll qualify my answer by saying I don't really know what exists between his ears, but my sense is MAF has been poorly developed and maybe his head and his history thus far will never allow him to realize his promise.
I say find another stopgap goalie and save those top picks.
And ges you certainly are on to what will likely become a huge issue for the Pens...like having to pay all their talented stars and now Hossa too.

If it means NOT signing Blake for next year, this idea is not all that bad. But as Lowe has found out, there is a price to be paid with offer sheets. Your respect level in the NHL drops in the eyes of other teams. Maybe in the future the idea of offer sheets will be more main stream..but not now. So..my answer would have to be no.
Valid question, but I'd go with Labs/Bernier next season.
Save the $$ for a couple strong 'stay at home' style d-men.
I think JLB's stats would be boosted with a stronger defense in front of him. Pit has some huge decisions to make in the next 1-2 years with their personnel. What is Ryan Whitney's status? I thought I saw somewhere that he's a RFA soon? I'd love to take a stab at him.
