The New York Rangers clearly are a better team with Sean Avery in their lineup. The Los Angeles Kings haven't been any better without him in theirs.

Avery and the surging Rangers look to continue their climb up the Atlantic Division standings Tuesday night when they host the league-worst Kings.

Are you sure that Avery is the reason they are doing well? Could it be the addition of Gomez and Drury? HHmmmmm I wonder.

How about the penalty minutes this year? Does any one player (besides 41) have numbers that compare to Avery's shortened season? And with the Kings doing so poorly on PK, wouldnt they be EVEN WORSE with Avery on the team?

At last check we have more points this season than we did last season at this same point.

Also this team is much more fun to watch than what we had.

If you were to take Avery's PIM per game average you would get 2.9 penalty minutes per game.

Now multiply that by the number of games played by the rangers(if Avery played every game) you would get 159.5 penalty minutes. That would put him third in the league in penalty minutes behind Daniel Carcillo & Jered Boll.

Currently Avery is 18th in the league in penalty minutes.

I find the New York media's love of this guy baffing. They act like this guy is Sidney Crosby or something. When they are talking about the Rangers they actually say "Sean Avery and the Rangers". HUH???? What about Jagr? Shanny? Or some other FA that the Rangers mortgaged their future for. Drury. Gomez. ETC....

What a joke. Quit with the Avery Kool Aid already.
