1st overall pick traded to Columbus for the 7th and the 20th overall picks and a dman...Hainsey or Tollefson.
1st overall pick traded to Nashville for the 10th and 14th picks and a Dman.
1st overall pick to Atlanta for the 3rd the 26th and Garnett Exelby.
The thinking here is there is no way the Kings will trade down to only get an extra second round pick. If it meant getting an extra first and blue line help-would that be a deal maker? In particular Atlanta may be a good fit-the 3rd rd pick will get you one of the premier Dmen, an additional late rd pick, as well as immediate toughness with Exelby.
Simply for the sake of discussion no more no less.

Food for thought... in 2003, the Panthers traded the first overall pick (in arguably one of the deepest drafts ever) to the Pittsburgh Penguins for the third overall and Mikhail Samuelsson.
The Nashville trade would depend on which D-man the Kings get back.
I'd easily do the Atlanta trade, but I doubt Atlanta would do it.
Would Pittsburgh do that with their Crosby pick? Would Atlanta with Ovechkin?
I'm not saying Stamkos is in their league... because I dont think he is. But he isnt necessarily that far behind. We all love Kopitar, but I think Stamkos might end up being even beter. So if we're potentially giving up on Stamkos, maybe give up Kopitar instead (I know, thats blasphemy, and I wouldnt do it, but I'm just sayin).
If we get the #1 overall, we get Stamkos. I'd rather we trade our Dallas 1st and our 2nd and a 3rd for a top 10 1st rounder instead.
Also, the Atlanta pick, of those 3, is the best... but I doubt they'd go for it.
Atlanta's the only good choice of the original three proposals because we don't want to make a move that keeps a Stamkos in the Western Conference. I think they'd balk at paying a late 1st and a roster player just to move up two spots. They might swap 3rd and Exelby and a conditional swap of the Pit/Dal 1sts (LA gets whichever ends up higher).
As much as I covet Bogosian, I still think that keeping Stamkos and packaging Cammilleri and one of the 29th & 31st would be a better choice. As long as the return was either one of the top d-men in the draft or a lower tier d-pick and a nhl'er. I'm just not sure if I'm being too optimistic to think it is a likely scenario.

if we win the lottery, trading the #1 overall pick would be a big mistake
I agree 100%
If we get to pick in the top 3, which is probable at this point, we will end up with either Stamkos, Doughty, or Pietrangelo. It would be too costly to try to pick up this caliber of player by trading, or making a deal. So, I say keep them when you have them. Very little point in trading the #1 (if we get it) for the #3. I'm not sure there will be much return.
Now, trading other pieces (players and picks) to get Schenn is fine by me. Though, that may be more difficult now as Kyle Beach's ranking should be dropping quickly. He has been scratched the last few games due to poor character/penalty issues.
