I'm sure I'm going to sound pretty stupid, but...
do you mean another 1st round pick or another #1 overall pick? I figure both answers would be pretty obvious.
IF we get the 1st overall, in order to get #2, or #3, I would think I would have to package a lot of stuff. But, it is not out of the question to get a #1 for, say, Rob Blake.
I just mean another 1st round pick to go along with ours already and the one we have from dallas. say 2nd and 3rd overall in this years.
You might want to downgrade your expectations just a wee bit. 3 top 15 picks may be possible depending on how many later rounders and/or players DL is willing to give up.
Under the new contract, no players can be traded for 1st round picks, unless they were 1st rounders themselves.
Stuart was a first rounder, but he is a dman on Canadian decent, so that will of course come into play and the rule takes effect.
Now, to break it down further, there is talk that we would trade cammy for a 2nd and the rights of Lundmark and then petition the league for the 1st round rule . We would then get Atlanta's first by default. Then with the 2nd we get from Lake Erie, we would move that to Manchester and then exchange for a NHL 4th.
So, realistically, there really is little chance of ever trading a player for a 1st.

Blake is definitely not getting us a low pick unless he's going to a team for a third team's pick (Anaheim's Edmonton pick for example). He'll only waive his NTC for a contender.

The way I see it any of the veterans who aren't locked up to longterm contracts are tradeable. The young guys are not.
In the current timeline for the Kings' rebuild, Blake will be retired a few years at least before they're to the point of being a regular playoff team or a Cup contender. That means that he's not really required to get there; he's simply a useful tool right now. If they can get another 1st round pick for him now (that would make three in the '08 draft I think) then so much the better. Besides, most of the league would believe that they're getting a final piece of the puzzle for a Cup run this year, making a high draft pick an acceptable price.
For that matter, I'd consider any of the veterans who aren't already locked up to longterm deals to be tradeable. I wouldn't trade away every last one, but I'd certainly be willing to part with any veteran not locked up longer than 2 years if it helps the pipeline. But I'd only accept in return draft picks or quality prospects, not has-been former all-stars or low-quality propects (Patrice Tardif?)
