I may get flamed for this but I think that DC and EE should alternate for the rest of the season. DC continues to show improvement and playing him more allows for a better chance to evaluate whether to buy him out or keep him.
See how they each respond to a 1 and 1a situation which one of them might be in next year with JLB.
Maybe, but isn't it better to know that there is nothing left in the tank before we buy him out and he goes all Manny Legace or Cristobol Huet or Matthieu Garon on us? Platooning EE and DC gives each a chance to play and if they both play well we can trade JLB....

I don't know - everybody wants to anoint Ersberg the new Don, but it seems very premature to me. People were freaking out about Jon Quick earlier in the year, too. After what, one win?
As far as Cloutier, who's to say he wouldn't be good in the veteran backup/OFF-ice mentor role next year. It's not like you want a rookie as the backup anyway. I think Lavoie has a decent point.
If JLB is the starter again next season, then I guess he's the "Mike Vernon" type that Clouts was supposed to be.
"I said Chicken Pot Pie...not Chicken Pad Thai...."
I have no problem with Clutz being the backup next year. My problem is with one of the other guys being the starting goalie.
Bernier needs some time in the AHL. He wont be ready to be the starting goalie for AT LEAST another season.
We need a veteran goalie who is can still start for a year or two. He also needs to be able to show any kid that comes up how hard he will have to work to make it in the show. If bernier is the next one ready or Ersberg/quick/taylor/zatkoff they will need to keep a good work ethic to start in the NHL for a while. And it wouldnt hurt if we had a solid goalie to give the kids a good chance to win until we are truly ready to compete for the cup.
