First of all, this is a thread about Dion Phaneuf being a little bitchy pussy. Or not. It's not a discussion about the quality of that player. It's about him being a spoiled prick. Or not. It's not about whether you'd like to have him on your paylist. This is a thread for discussing his childish behavior.
Since it seems that you do acknowledge what is this thread about, it looks like you just disapprove, that the thread exists at all? Sorry, but we can discuss whatever we want here and I don't see you opposing this as being very productive or actually being in the spirit of a discussion board. You open a thread about a particular subject and write your opinion about that subject - that's the point of a forum.
I do agree about the fighting and Brown, though. Or more correctly, I disagree that a hitter should be a fighter. I prefer my top hitter not being a fighter. Neither Brown nor Phaneuf is a fighter and I think that's perfectly ok.

I seem to remember quite a few indignant fans at Smyth's spearing of LaBarbera, injuring his ribs... and not many people were calling for a player just to drop the gloves or lay out a good, clean hit on Smyth as retaliation.
As for myself, I'd rather a message be sent than no message at all... but if I had to choose, I'd rather it be a message on a clean hit than a bitch move.
