Is it actually possible that the team realized that there was some unfinished business regarding Phaneuf after the cheap trick he pulled on LaBarbera ?

Does he have some skill? Absolutely, but I'm glad Calgary signed him to a long term contract, because that is the kind of player I love to hate.

And Kingscourt, once again you miss the point entirely. Sure Dion is an agitator, but the point is he is the one that got agitated tonight, and took the stupid penalty after trying to run people the whole game and getting his ass handed to him by Boyle and Brown. Calgary fans sitting around us were embarassed by that two handed slash he gave Brown. Looked like they wanted to crawl under their seats when that happened.
Well said.

Phaneuf has been cheap ever since he broke into the league...

Agreed.

Anyone who makes their living dishing it out like he does, would have respect for someone who does it clean like Brownie does.

The way he got all pansy-aZZ bent out of shape and slashed Brown REALLY lowered his stature IMO.

Its OK for him to bitch-slap someone but don't think of trying that on him.

What a punk.

I actually LIKED Dion up until last night. I enjoyed watching him lay people out (not the Kings of course)

But lets get real: all these guys know each other, that was a CLEAN hit, and you come back and two hand slash a guy where you KNOW you might do the most damage, right on his wrist/hands. TOTAL PUSSY play by this Pronger-like bitch. Brown is LUCKY he isn't laid up with a broken bone, that was total INTENT and I hope the league takes a look at it.

Total premeditated attempt to injure. Little pussy bitch!

I love DB.

Bad night for Dion all around. He had Charlie Huddy syndrom the entire game, "Phaneuf fires! Wide of the net!"

Once he gets a little less enamored with himself and his shot power and starts putting pucks on net he's going to tear things up. MacInnis had the same issue early on in his career.

That was a good one as well. I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned him getting laid out by Giuliano too. I think it was the 3rd period, Phaneuf was coming down the boards and it looked like JMFJ was gonna stand he up, then Giuliano comes in and hits him and Phaneuf went for a nice ride landing on his back.
It was great seeing him TRY and hammer Boyle only to get the worst of it. I can imagine Phaneuf saying, "****, I'm not gonna try that again.". It was great to see him get laid out 3 times in 1 game. But I would still love to have him on the Kings.

Same here. That could've been my favorite hit of the night on Dion because of who threw it.

Dion definitely had a target on his back tonight.

Definitely. Until that game in Calgary, I liked Phaneuf and would have been on the "he'd look great in a Kings' sweater" side. I just don't think there's any room for douchebag at Staples.

If you've played the sport then you know that Dion is the type of player that agitates. Just because he did it to our precious team doesn't mean he isn't a good player. Dustin Brown is a player that will dish out the hits and will never drop his glove. Stop with your hometeam rationalization. Dion can dish it out with the best of them.

Obviously he is worth something if he is in the top 10 players to build around.
I've tried to be nice, but so much of what you say is so ridiculous it's ****ing appalling.

Phaneuf slashing Brown has absolutely NOTHING to do with "agitating." It was a cheap retaliation penalty, nothing more. Instead of being a man and just trying to get Brown back later with a legal hit (something "Dion" is KNOWN for), he took the bitch route. For someone who can't get his c*** out of Pierre McGuire's mouth because he's such a "monster," it's pretty pathetic that he can't take what he likes to dish out.

Finally, being cheap has jack **** to do with talent, and the two are not mutually exclusive. It's the same reason that people can't stand players like Paul Kariya and Peter Forsberg, but love players like Adam Deadmarsh and Jarome Iginla. Unfortunately, you probably have no idea what I'm talking about...
