Oh, I agree with you completely. And there should be that silver lining when we do play poorly. I just really hate it when people wish for a team that really is not that poor to lose games solely for draft positioning. Not only do I think that it sucks from a sportsmanship standpoint, but really undermines the purpose of the draft <cough, Pittsburgh, cough>.
And it's strategically retarded in a league with a draft lottery.
The Kings have, and it's at the bottom of the standings.
You and your DL's plan hatred are sure in love with that cupless blackhole era.
Now, keep in mind (if you can) that that era consisted of constant trading young assets and picks for vets without any success.
Although I know you will bash me again (What else can I expect, really...), your obsession with the current and last year's standings, complete inability to be realistic and to look at the whole picture and the obvious myopia you suffer from make you an utterly pathetic piece of crap when it comes to judging a GM and his plans.
And to make it clear, I'm not bashing you because it's you, because I, for example, agree with this post:

This one made me go and look up who was drafted that year (1981). There were only 21 teams at the time. The Kings had the 2nd overall pick and chose Doug Smith after the Winnepeg Jets picked Dale Hawerchuk.
In picking Smith, they passed on Ron Francis, chosen 2 spots later by the Hartford Whalers. Grant Fuhr was picked by the Oilers, 4 spots after Francis. Nice.
Back to the 40th overall, Chris Chelios. The Kings had the 39th overall, too, and chose Dean Kennedy. Nice.
Look at all teams that passed up Luc? Everyone is so quick to point out what we passed up.
All pretty much a moot point since the Kings obviously have no intention of tanking on purpose. Cloutier call-up notwithstanding.
Cloutier is up here so he MAYBE actually proves to be an almost solid goalie, and then gets shipped off somewhere FAR away like Senators...if they manage to get rid of Emery (NOT with Kings' help, of course...).

And this is how you agree with some one? Yikes, what happens when you disagree? Nuclear warfare?
