About This Page: This is a discussion on LA Kings Talk within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. From Inside The Kings today:

I don't think you'll see Dan Cloutier in a Kings uniform next season. A buyout is possible, or he might choose to play overseas, as Oleg Tverdovsky did.
Its at the tail end of his answer to the 3rd question.
On a related note, it is quite a joy to see real conjecture on the Kings once again. I was sorry to hear that they laid off Kredell but Hammond is at another level entirely.

I think anyone could have seen something like this coming. It will be a $1.0385M cap hit for the next 2 season. It will free up over $2M for next season.
Well, usually when you prove you can't even hack it in the A, it shouldn't warrant you another chance in the show. But thats just logic, I'm not Crawford, I don't know how amazing the dome Cloutier gives actually is, so we'll see.

Look... no knock on Hammond or anything...
but see here...
``Since Reading is not going to be affiliated with the Kings next year, where does that leave Manchester?''
In the same place, at least for the time being. AEG still owns the Monarchs, and they're the Kings' top minor-league affiliate. The Kings would like to have an AHL team on the West Coast, but right now there are none. That's the goal, but until the AHL decides to come out West, Manchester will remain as the Kings' top affiliate.
Since when is Reading not going to be affiliated with the Kings next season? Is Hammond aware that AEG owns %50 of the Royals as well as the Monarchs? Because to read this it sounds like he has no idea and is just pulling **** out of his ass... so... is that really "reporting"?
Or did I miss some huge day where AEG re-shuffled it's minor league hockey teams?
I guess we won't be saying "Tavaaarrreeesssss" next season
I hope not too. Actually, I'll never cheer for the Kings to lose, I'll just continue to question DL's master plan and continue to call people jabroni's. God I hope they can just be competitive.

Granted, it's not an "official" source, but this is from the Reading Royals Wikipedia page:
Quote:
The team's affiliation as of the 2008-09 season is unknown, as the Kings have announced that they will own the Ontario Reign (currently the Texas Wildcatters) in the Los Angeles suburbs as of that season.
Regardless, I don't see how that answer is "pulling **** out of his ass". The question was, "where does that leave Manchester?". His answer was correct; the affiliation with Mancester doesn't change, regardless of what happens with Reading.
