Montoya has never proved himself at an NHL level. It is awesome that he has built a name for himself by being drafted very high... but he hasn't done ANYTHING since being drafted.

and Shoe String?
granted, it took Vrbata 4 teams to finally click. but i'd say that the jury is still out on HIM.
Marcel Hossa may turn out to be just as capable. Sjostrom has really been unable to find it with Gretzky and he's been apart of their system for a while now...

It all comes back to having an elite goalie. Bernier's in Quebec; A realist can't count on him for 2-3 years. If Lomardi doesn't use some draft picks, prospects, and a good looking player to get an elite goalie , then that sucks! The biggest King's problem for the last 25 years has been NO ELITE GOALTENDER!

Out,
I agree. Dean-o has said that goalie is the most important position, so i assure you he knows this. I just want to see how the kings fair next year. Kings are the only team out west without a legit #1 goalie. We have one goalie posting a winning percentage over 50%, and its everyones favorite Dan Cloutier (2-0). Honestly, does anyone think we will be in a better position next year?
A) I would not call Campbell a rental, yet. San Jose will throw enough money at him to keep him around, I believe. He's a good mobile defenseman, and he's pretty young too. He fits well into their system.
B) Brad Richards is not a rental. He is also not overrated. He is an all-star forward with all-star offensive playmaking ability. On top of that, he is very good defensively too. I would venture to say that he is one of the most complete players in hockey, and fits perfectly into Dallas' system. He m
