"The worst thing we did was finish a point out of the playoffs last year and get the 13th draft choice. The year before we missed by two points and got the 13th pick, which we traded away,'' said Ferguson, clearly indicating that a team gone deep in the tank can at least take solace in eventually landing a top draft choice.
Ferguson, grow a set off balls, you pussy, and resign.
He's not going to resign. He wants every last penny he can get out of that franchise. And while I think he has done a f***ing s***ty job with the Leafs, I do think that MLSE is being very unprofessional about all this, and he should stick it out in order to get those last few pennies.
Call me crazy, but that doesn't make me feel any better.
If you can't understand how having an ownership group that allows the GM to make the hockey decisions isn't better than one that meddles in what the GM is trying to get done, then yeah you're crazy.

How many playoff games have we seen in the last decade?
I'm by no means saying that the Leafs have are the model of success; they have problems, big ones, but I don't think that the LA Kings are in any place to judge anybody. Let's at least wait until we aren't last in the league at any rate.

And how many times have we heard, "We're going to rebuild.", only to have them trade young players for veterans? The previous management had as much direction as a blind-man on a major freeway. Kinda like JFJ and his band of idiots.
Now, finally, after god knows how many years, this team has a GM that says what plan he is going to take and is sticking by it. Christ, if the old regime was still at the helm, this team would be trading off the youth and finishing 8th to 10th place.
While I'm not going to say JFJ has done an excellent job with the Leafs I will give him credit for having the guts to take arguably the most difficult GM positions in the league. The big problem with JFJ is that he was never given full control to run the team as he sees fit and has to put up with the meddling of non-hockey execs like Richard Peddie.
Oh, and sorry but I had to throw this pic in for the thread title!
