About This Page: This is a discussion on LA Kings Talk within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. Stuart, Willsie, and Tukonen to Detroit for Kindl and a 2nd.
Blake and Thornton to SJ for Patrecki and a 1st.
Nagy to Vancouver for a 2nd.
Cammi, Priessing to
I'm changing mine because...well, no one has been dealt yet.
Thornton to Colorado for a pick
Willsie and Petiot to Washington for Steve Eminger
And that's it...
I certainly hope there is more, but this is the strangest trade deadline in years. I'm wondering if it's goign to be like the NBA where we are going to see a dozen deals announced tomorrow about an hour after the deadline has passed.
Our future is now---hoping we get some BIG takers for Blake (probably not) and Nagy -- he will not be re-signed so all we gain is salary next year--Stuart should be a hot one along with Cammy!
Where is bruce McNall when you need him. Say what you want about him but he wasn't afraid to spend the money to try and win a cup.
Problem with Bruce was he was spending money he didn't have and that crippled this organization for close to a decade in my opinion. I feel your pain though and hope by this time tommorow we traded away some of the older guys for some young talent. This team really isn't that far off in my opinion. I really think we need to get some toughness on the back end as our d is very soft and if we could get someone like an Andy Sutton who's just the type we need back there guys like Johnson and Stuart won't have to worry about the rough stuff. I mean our d is Jello soft right now and we could use a Kasparitis/Ulf Samuelsson type of player back there as the way it stands now teams come rushing in our zone in full attack mode as they are not afraid of being hit and why should they? Look at this group as of 3:21 today:
Blake-a shell of his former self physically
Vis-soft
Preissing-makes Vis look like Scott Stevens
Stuart-our big banger so far, very Michel Petit like which is good some nights and bad on alot of nights as he goes for the big hit and gets caught out of position
Dallman-a spare part
Harrold-a baby who's got alot to learn
