I don't know about the the grit from euros but the size is there and both can contribute on offense. I say sign one of the above and then trade cammy with the dallas pick for suter or blum and the forth overall

Rofl. And you know that it is possible... >.< But this should initially have Blake on there because you know he will be re-signed regardless and won't be a UFA. I personally would like to see the Kings go after Commodore or Orpik but mostly Commodore. I really like his stay-at-home play and I think he could do a lot towards holding down the fort and showing some of the youngsters how to keep it out of the net.

Why would anyone not named Blake, Modry, or Stuart want to play for the Kings next year? I'm sure these free-agents like Commodore would rather play for a team that has a ligit shot at winning next year.

Because DL will kick them an extra mil/year and an extra year in contract length! Then we'll all complain about them in December when, after a really strong start to the year, they're all -11 and our PK is still <80% even though the entire goalie corps' combined save percentage is >0.910! Then coaches responsible for these passive defensive atrocities will be fired and morale will improve!

with that in mind i wouldnt mind if we signed orpik, and commodore, and left harrold in the a. If this scenario were to play out i would like to see preissing traded(for whatever), and harrold or another young guy called up.

Orpik, Liles, Stuart, Campbell or Redden

I wrote a post about this a month ago...... Commadore was on the list, Jason Smith from Phili, Orpik would be nice. No way that the Kings get Campbell, who is a defensive liability, Redden will not leave Ottawa unless someone offers him big dough which the Kings should NOT do.

There are a few players on that list that would help toughen up the defense and add some much needed grit on our backend.

But I don't think any of them are really going to make a huge impact as far as making this a better team defensively.

We're going to have to either make a trade or suffer a bit for another season.
