I can't wait until the Kings are good and we can stop having the stupid To Tank Or Not To Tank debate, mainly so that I can stop reading idiotic suggestions to tank, which is counter to every other goal of developing the organizational youth and directly occludes DL & Co.'s ability to evaluate the team's needs going into the draft and off-season. They need to be able to know what we get out of certain guys in certain positions when they're at 100% health and 100% effort, not have to try to extrapolate from positions of uncertainty.
I can't wait until next season when this team becomes serious playoff contender, and when debate won't be about tanking, but about wet dream's Cup winning.
I know my optimism will get flamed, but what do I care?
For somebody who quotes Lykis as much as you do. Why on earth are you married man?
a) over 40
b) prenup
c) kids should have parents that are married
Leykis agress on all 3 - gotta pay attention, man.

There is no hope for us in the postseason. We are horrible this year. We need to lose, not win. I don't want to win any more games this year. Even beating Detroit, while entertaining the hell out of me, made me a little sick.
IF DL's plan was to lose, then we need to lose. I don't think his plan was to win, since we are dead last in the entire league. If he went into this season wanting to win, then his plan was a miserable failure. If his plan was to suck and get a good pick, we are right on track baby!
DL has been saying he's a builder, and a part of that building phase includes the actual NHL team improving, not just building his reserves.
I've had this debate with someone else not too long ago, who dropped several f-bombs when the Kings won. The draft alone won't help the team, no matter how much you wish for it to.
First of all, the Kings are going to be sellers. After dumping the vets, they are going to lose more than win, which will please those who are most concerned with getting a top pick. But on the other hand, the young players will be looked upon even harder this year than last year. Their development will continue, and they DO have to learn how to win without the vets, because one day they will be the leaders.
The Kings have to build through the draft, but the draft doesn't mean dick, if you fail to develop the players properly. You can't expect those core players to develop and be ready to lead the team on day one of the offseason. It takes time, and is a gradual process.
You mean for a season? Because right now NO TEAM in the Western Conference has more wins than the Kings this year (2008). That's a pretty good stretch to have a solid record. And that includes Dallas who has won 7 in a row and Detroit who is crushing the league this "season".
