Default nocturn's meaningless opinion about the Flames/Kings game...

IMHO, it was the most fundamentally sound game we have played all season. Although I'm not hip to the dump and chase PP or the slack offensive play in the 3rd period. But I'll take it.

I think the biggest change since Christmas has been the ability to hold on to the puck long enough to find the proper passing seams. Prior to to the holidays it seemed every single King on the ice would panic the second an opponent would come within a stick length, then try to force their pass/problem to the furthest person away instead of using their talent to try and get out of the situation. And it was everyone, not just the youngsters trying to dish it to the Vets. It was a total Cluster***k.

Fast forward to now, it finally appears like everyone has become comfortable in their own skin/skill. Guys are holding on to the puck longer, making smarter passes giving the rest of the team time to hit the sweet spots on the ice.

The only beef I had last night, and every night for that matter, was the inability of Modry to recognize the urgency of getting the puck out of the defensive end. He is screwing up the timing of everyone else on the ice with lackadaisical passing out of the dzone. Other than that, it was a well played game by all.

Its nice to see the cohesiveness and confidence starting to come out. This season being a playoff bust is probably the best thing for the team to gel. If things keep going as they are, IMHO, think this team has the best long term potential of any Kings team to this point.

I noticed that too last night for sure. At times the Kings actually looked like a team that knew WTF they were doing! The passing has improved for sure. Maybe the dog sledding with Heidi helped!

I appreciated your post. Well, that's because I agree with you!
