The Kings are not talking to the Thrashers

The Kings are not talking to the Thrashers about Lehtonen. Why would we do that? We have our goalies for now, and we have our goalie for the future. This makes no sense.
Not sure DL ever considered Squid "a part of the core".

It's just that, a RUMOR that got started on a message board. There was never any foundation at all to it. I mean look at the crap that was coming back in the rumored deal.
The Cammalleri situation was was one brought on by Mike himself. He wanted waaaay too much after one good season (sounds familiar) and after the arbitration hearing, we all knew his days as a King were done.
where on a message board was the Kopitar rumour started? Link please since you obviously know where it's at.
And sure I can buy that Cammarelli is responsible for a good portion of the arbitration/ money/ slash whatever mess. But the Kings have to take some responsibility here too and put their money where their mouth is. The whole point of this seems to be the question of whether the Kings are capable of doing just that. Let's just say I don't have faith in AEG/lie-weekly and co. They are dishonest people at best. And I agree with a thread that was on here not long ago saying. Lombardi tends to choke on closing the deal.
I see you were captain of your debate team in high school. I'm sure you have a bunch of examples of "core players" who played on 4 teams in 5 years, traded by 2 of them and just flat out released by the 3rd without any compensation.
Ugh... let's start with a guy named Cammarelli . Or even Sean Avery could have been a core player. And what I am talking about here is what I see happening if they don't change their perceived stances on re-signing players. How much have we heard that Kopitar is in the rumour mill for being traded. If there is any foundation to that rumour I would bet alot that it was because the Kings were going to be too cheap to give Kopitar the money he would undoubtedly be seeking. Do I know this? no... but I think it's not going out on a limb considering some of Lombardi's comments over the past year and the handling of the Cammarelli situation.

It was started here: HockeyBuzz.com
No I'm not gonna put the link to the actual thread, because I'm not gonna do all the work for you. Search for it.

I just moved back home to CA from Atlanta, where I was a STH. IMO a more even trade would be O'Sullivan for Pavelec, or a package involving JLB/Ersberg for either Enstrom or Bogosian and Lehtonen.
Lehtonen is streaky and injury prone; he has not shown any consistancy and it's widely thought around ATL that he's a bit of a head case.
Pavelec looks NHL ready and has tremendous upside; he has about the same career potential as Bernier. Trading O'Sullivan for Pavelec would be fruitless though for the Kings. Pavelec may only be 1 or 2 years ahead of Bernier in development. But who knows what DL is thinking considering some of the tandems he has put together in SJ.
I think the asking price for O'Sullivan should be more than Lehtonen, and I just can't see ATL parting with any one of there few young assets.

Squid was in all of our season ticket stuff packaged as one of the "core" players...and so was Lubo, who had just got his NTC and then was promptly shipped off before it went into effect.
I think I'd pass on the trade, but I'd still have to consider it before I made a decision one way or another.
IMO, Cammelleri was initially viewed as a potential core player. However, as time went on he bacame a "Borderline" core player at best. IMO, the arbitration case totally changed how Cammelleri was viewed by the Kings. I know it affected how I viewed him.
As for Avery, He is a role player (agitator) not a core player. IMO, his antics taint somewhat average/decent play. The result of his antics were very detrimental to every team he's ever been on.

Perhaps you've stopped, but don't push a bad argument. Stick with your initial point, which was (essentially) that the Kings are cheap. I don't agree with that, but you can at least make an empirical case for it, certainly much better than your Avery argument.
