About This Page: This is a discussion on LA Kings Talk within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. If I remember correctly, Bruce McNall is the inventor/mind behind the scrolling sign inside a sporting venue. Back in the Forum days he implemented the first scrolling signs there.

It would not surprise me if he is the owner of the company that has fitted these two venues with the lighted/scrolling signs. Or at least have his hands in on the venture.
Many of you have misunderstood my reasoning. It's not the fact that there is advertising on the boards - of course I accept that. I should have been more clear. It's the glare on the ice from the "glowing boards."
If you hadn't noticed it before, kudos to you. You're better than I am. But, for those like me who have noticed it, and have been annoyed by it, then this is something you might want to respond to. That's all.
I'd like to see Rich Hammond ask some of the players what they think of the glowing boards.
The Kings used to have something similar near the benches. Not sure if it "glowed", but the ads did rotate/changed every few minutes. Do they still have this? I haven't noticed it lately if they're still there.
They should have the boards all flashing LED lights like the wraparound above the suites, saying "Power Play" and "All the ugly people be quiet" and stiuff..
I've noticed them on TV and to be honest I didn't find them distracting at all. I haven't actually seen them in person though so it may be different when you are at the arena.
This is true. AEG only cares what you do ...... Specifically, whether -- after they've instituted yet another revenue source that can distract/impede your enjoyment of the game -- you'll continue to crack open your wallet for tickets. There are enough fans that will continue to do so that makes it worth their while.
If the sheeple in 106, 107, 115, and 116 were willing to pay the same (or more) money to get their view obstructed by the Britney Cecil netting, then these neon board adverts are definitely on their way.

Thank you for bringing a sane post to this thread. I was beginning to think I was the only person around who saw a game in the 80's at the Forum.
