Nick Nickson calling Ducks games?

This morning on 710AM they played a radio highlight from last nights Ducks/Stars game and it sounded like Nicks voice calling the goal. Is he working for the Ducks during the playoffs?

I don't know how I feel about it. Happy for Nick for getting to call the playoffs but it's the Ducks.

I think he calls a great game and would actually love to hear him call the Kings TV games. I think it would be a great move for the Ducks to have him call their TV games.

If he is, it was for NHL Radio and not for the Ducks organization. I'm sure he's got a couple of games on his slate this playoff season and why not? He's one of the best.

Yep... He's working for NHL Radio this year on selected west coast games, as is Foxy (who does so regularly).

It's certainly a miles-ahead upgrade over the current Ducks radio duo. Severyn should be fired. He's horrible.

The 710am cut in said it came from the Ducks radio net. Maybe they were wrong and it came from a national broadcast.

Nick Nickson and Jim Fox were doing the broadcast for Westwood One last night. Normally, I won't listen to Ducks games, but somehow it was okay while listening to Nick and Foxy. Knowing these familiar voices are Kings announcers somehow helped with the bitterness of listening to a Ducks playoff game. That, and the fact that the Ducks kept shooting themselves in the foot.

Yeah, for NHL Radio /Westwood One, Fox and Nickson did the call. They had that feed on XM and it was a good listen... stand up talent.

They're usually available in early April to work other games.

If it weren't for the Anaheim broadcasters (radio and TV but ESPECIALLY asshat Hayward), I would hate the Ducks at least 50% less.

It's the one constant in their team history, I'll give 'em that!

Last year during the regular season(Kings had like 5 days off) and during the playoffs, Bob Miller did some NHL radio games also.
