Is just off the wall and really, for no good reason at all. Oh no, we don't get to pick #1, we don't get Stamkos, we have to settle for #2, that's not good enough. Boo hoo, quit your crying. Yeah, the #2 pick sucks. The #1 pick is almost certainly going to be Stamkos. OK, well, if we had the #1 pick I'm sure we'd pick him cause you don't ignore the most talented person in the draft if your options are limitless BUT we have the #2 pick and the choice of defensemen this year is unbeatable. Oh, and what is it we need? Offense? Not so much, LA can actually score, look at our goals for this past season. Do we need DEFENSE? You bet your ass we do. Guess what? Looks like that's exactly what we're going to get. I see no reason to throw a hissy fit. In fact, I think LGK needs some more positivity around here right about now so here's some things that should brighten everyone's day up. Images of sunshine, flowers, kittens, and DEFENSE.
I don't see what the big deal is... A stud center would have been nice... But it isn't what we REALLY need! Sure every team could use stamkos... But we NEED D plain and simple.. I think we win on this one! I was and am happy with a #2
By selecting Hickey last year, DL proved he is unconventional. I'm glad we got the number two because DL wanted a D man, now we can avoid all the whining come draft day when he ultimately drafts for need, which he was planning to do all along.

I guess it's better this way. There would have been much more to bitch about when the Kings selected Pietrangelo first overall. Followed by a quote from Lombardi saying "we tried moving the top pick down but couldn't find the right deal."

An offensive minded defenseman is a current area of need?

Great, I'm glad you're in the know. I'm dying to know, who's he targeting 1 through 15? Where exactly is he in regards to retaining Crawford long-term? Exactly how much rope is he giving him for the upcoming two seasons.

NOW.... I just want a big defenseman, not afraid to hit, who can score lots of goals, will drop the gloves when necessary, is super speedy and is good looking!
