I find it funny how people get mad at those people who are bitching that the team didn't get the 1st pick but then have the audacity to bitch at them for their bitching..

For every ying there's a yang. Where's negativity on one side, there's got to be positivity on another. I'm really not trying to bitch, I'm just trying to shed some light on what too many people see as a cloudy day.
The negativity around here is absolutely, 110% justified.
We SUCKED the entire year. We had the worst record in the league for a majority of the season. We had to endure more than our fair share of god-awful games.
The one saving grace was that we would get the best shot at Stamkos. But because of a single stupid, meaningless win, we didnt!
There is nothing positive about it. Nothing at all. As a Kings fan, its utterly incomprehensible to me that some people around here are "ok" with not getting Stamkos. You're not a true fan if you dont want the BEST for your TEAM.
Ya. I think I remember one day at work I was talking about how much I loathed Army as a player to my friends and then I turn around and saw the ESPN ticker saying he was signed to an extension. I think I spent the rest of the day crying on the inside.
Then try not to be too defensive... because when you're being defensive, then your offense isn't playing defense and your defense isn't beating their offense.
I found myself while on the phone with the casino host making plans for Frozen Fury getting excited that we make actually have a defense coming or at least on the way. Everyone is saying that whoever we draft of the d-men won't be ready for the NHL this season....but why not? We watched MOdry screw how many plays up this year? Preissing wasn't what we thought he was going to be. And the impressive D-man that we had, we traded. I say throw them in, we can't get any worse than this season. Give us the STH something to look foward to, scratch that, I'm tired of looking forward, lets do something now!
The problem is that we keep playing him in a 1st/2nd line role and on the Power Play...
I think we'll be seeing a lot more of Brian Boyle on the 2nd line with Frolov and (Purcell/Parse) next season. Army will spend most of his time on the 3rd and 4th line combos and PKs. Especially since Giuliano is a UFA and it's hard to believe that he'll be re-signed.

Look. We all WANTED that first overall pick. The difference is that you're still bitching about something that we don't have control of anymore. Stop acting like a bunch of Emo kids.
The funny thing to me about all this is how we are feeling so sorry for our selves while the rest of the world just wants to be sick with jealousy. Any rebuilding club would be jealous as hell of all the young talented forwards we have. And on defense we are about to have the top defensemen taken in 3 of the last four drafts. JMFJ, Hickey and Doughty/Bogosion is nothing to be disappointed about. Plus Martinez, Harrold is not terrible and we are going to probably get one other stud defenseman with the Dallas pick and the possibility of some second round steals this year.
Or we can drink the Kool-Aid, courtesy of Jim Jones. me, i'll take Doughty. Although Bogosion is looking real good and trading for Schenn or Myers would be sweet.
Exactaly, if there was any year not to get the #1 I would of picked this...out of the last 5 or so, there is a lot of talent in this draft...of course it is now down to DL to figure out how to Royaly screw it up.

No, we beat the Avs at frozen fury....and of course the Dallas game(s) other than that...yeah it sucked...again

You didn't really look into my original post much it seems. First off, I was just trying to put a positive spin on things, I don't see anything wrong with that, I'm far from emo and don't want to sit around crying. Second, I pointed out that yes, the first pick is what everyone wants and the most talented player is desired by all, regardless of team needs. But since we won't be getting the #1 most talented prospect we will be able to select from an awesome selection of defensemen which is absolutely what we're looking for. For accepting the fact that we're not getting Stamkos makes me not a true fan? A true fan sticks by the team no matter what. I do agree that a true fan wants what's best for the team but in this case, the team sure ain't getting what's worst for the team, they're getting something that's extremely helpful. I don't know what else to add really, it's all there.
