I don't think he's damned either way. If he would stop talking to the media already and just keep everything between he and DL, then no one would complain. If he wants to help the team so much, accept a trade for a couple months and then come back in the offseason.
Well said.

Actually, the only thing that might make me pleased by all this is if by some miracle DL is working WITH Blake to get maximum value and that DL is having Blake say all this in order to boost his trade value (i.e. DL to opposing GM: "You've heard Rob talking about how he wants to stay, I've got to sell this to him so make me an offer good enough to make me want to go sell him on being traded.") I know that sort of thing has happened before...I can only hope that's what's going on now, but knowing what I do about Blake, I think he's being honest that he doesn't want to leave LA for a shot at the playoffs and a Cup---not even for 20 games.

I hope that's true as well. I guess we'll find out within a week.
If he talks about being traded, he's an *******. If he talks about staying, he's an *******. Why not just stop looking for excuses and call him an ******* just 'cause?
I guess you have to realize that certain sentiments will always remains in the hearts of fans in relation to Blake.
Is there any precident here? Meaning has an older, pending UFA defenseman with a broken leg that's not expected to be back on the ice before the trade deadline been traded in recent years? If so, what team made the deal and are they looking to deal again this year?

The Kings traded for Sopel not too many years ago.
