Modry was the most defensively sound player on our blueline this season. That's how bad our defense is, and it will suck to see him go for the remainder of this season.
Give the guy cred, he pulled a +2 on a team with the worst goals against average in the league. Hate all you want, but Modry was a blessing to our defense this season.
As for the trade, I'd say it was a solid trade. We gave up Modry, but at his age he really didn't have much left int he tank, instead we get a young player and at 3rd round I'm happy.

as much of a blake hater I was earlier in the year, blake had started playing much better by january before the injury. Modry has been serviceable this year.
and I hope blake gets traded as well for a prospect/draft picks. probably woudn't mind seeing Blake back in a kings uni next year a big discount if he is willing to do it - I hope he really does the best thing for the team like he's been preaching..

Now you proved to me who has less hockey knowledge. Modry with the expcetion of maybe 5-10 games at most played like one of our top 2 d-man. Blake at the most played 5-10 games as a top 2 d-man.
We was worth the 3rd. Flyers had some injuries and have a good chance at a nice playoff run. A veteran d-man that can help them this year is worth a 3rd.
