Being traded at the deadline is really a shock. Even though you can see it coming sometimes, you feel like the team you’ve been working with just kind of gave up on you.
Wait, how much money does he make a year? Let's not be hasty folks, they're professional athletes and they made good money. If I was making over half a mil a year I'd play hockey in Siberia...
big difference if you are traded from a playoff team to a non playoff team. If he is traded to a team that makes the playoffs, I hardly think he will feel like that Kings gave up on him.
I agree with you. Game in and out, he often has some of the best defensive stats. The majority of games I don't notice him standing out which generally means he is doing his job right. It is when defensemen become most visible, it usually is not in a good way.
I get the majority consensus here is against him... I just wonder if that is at least in part due to expectations of wanting him to be something he isn't. His game is not to be a physical defenseman, yet at games that is the most common thing I see him being yelled about... hit something... There is something to be said for helping mentor Johnson and playing solid defense. He isn't a sexy player; but he earns his keep.

I said this before and I'll say it again, Modry is a 5/6 dman. No more, no less.
