It's a tough spot to be in. On one hand, from a management perspective, it makes sense to go for the #1 pick this year. On the other hand, what player in his right mind would want to play for a team that wants to finish last? From a fans point of view, I would rather root for a team that atleast tries to play their ass off every night, eventhough there's a lot going against them.
Does Stamkos and Taveres gaurantee a cup in the future? Or does a team who wants to win everynight no matter what, stand a better chance (Nordiques/Avs)? I don't think a #1 pick ever makes that big of a difference anyway. As a matter of fact, in the past 20 years there has only been TWO #1 picks that have won a Stanley Cup (Modano and Lecavalier).
I'd rather see Kings play with some pride and at least be the #1 spoiler this year. Then build on that for future years!
true. but you can think he's a dick when he acts like one.
I didn't see it and from what I reading of what he said, it doesn't seem like he was that big of a dick. If he had said the Kings shouldn't even be in the NHL, or something like that, then yeah. But if I see him act like a dick, I'll think he is one.
Sorry, but you can't run a business by making losing your goal. You just can't.
I don't care who the number one ranked guy out there is, odds are he is 3 years away from being an impact player, and by that time, the Kings will be in Las Vegas if we keep losing.

his delivery was very snide, sort of a "you must be stupid to think that a three-game win streak means anything with this team." imagine craig kilborn talking to a busboy. that kind of unnecessary dickiness.
The fack is the Kngs have to start winning so the fans go to the games.
They play like Sh** most nights because they dont have the right players, I hope we get ride of Wilsey, Army, Stuart and that fat a** Abuin, and bring guys who can play better than mentioned above.
He happens to be right this time but a nod is as a good as a wink to a blind man.
I can't believe in another post on this board DT's deadline deal of a few seasons past was being called one of the worst trades of all time. I mean look at some of those deals that Mad Mike made. The 3 Islanders fans who are left must stay up late at nights thinking of creative ways to get even with that guy.
I really think most people were annoyed by who said it more than what was said. I mean, let's face it the Kings suck but Milbury is and has been responsible for some of the stupidest trades, drafts and contracts in league history so it's kind of like having George Bush critique someone on their public speaking and I'm a Republican!!
