About This Page: This is a discussion on LA Kings Talk within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. How would you folks feel about bringing him back to the Western Conference? What would you give him in terms of salary and contract length?
I would go with 3
He is really good at what he does but realisticly he is a 4-6 dman and thats a fair amount of money for a guy in that role. I wouldn't be completely against it... but I also think it is going to take more like 4 or so to do it.
He was very popular here in NC, but even here they didn't see him as a top 3 dman.
That was one of my better games - a power play hat trick against Chris Osgood! Now I am washed up playing in a german beer league...no Labatts anywhere!
That would be so sweet (Commodore 64). We talked about that when he played for Calgary. I think 3.5 is way too much though. How about 2 or 2.5 per year?
I say 3.5 is too much. (although that's what it may take to get someone like him here)
He's making 1.3 this season.
I'd say 2.5 per would be a good bet.
After all, the Kings could use his size, experience, and physical play around the crease.
But if the Kings did sign him, they'd better make the playoffs...
no use wasting a beard like that.
He would be a great signing at 2 or 2.5 but if it is going to take 3.5 to 4 to get him, is it worth it? I don't think he is that kind of value, myself.
Sign Campbell if at all possible for the skill and sign Orpik for the obvious. And Orpik might cost less than $2mil per. I feel we have the skill at the blue line already but adding Orpik brings a whole new element
