He's getting 2 goals tomorrow night vs Ottawa.
Why not try him on a line with guys that have a little more skill than Calder?
Why not try him on a line with guys that have a little more skill than Calder? He seems to do a decent job at holding the puck down low, maybe if he had skilled guys to pass to, he'd put up some more points. I'd like to see him build a little confidence going into the off-season, considering we have him for another 3 years.
im giving him a bit of leeway this season to get his confidence back, you can see he still doesnt have it completely, acl's can be tricky recoverys, but if he doesnt start putting up better points next season ill be a bit more critical of his game.
He is worth $4 million if he plays like we all know he could. I really wish Rich Hammond or someone of the sort with interview with him and get to the bottom of his woes. When Handzus was at the top of his game he was one of the best two way players in the game. He was getting 40-50+ points a season until he joined the Kings. I'd be interested to know how his injuries are doing and I hope he can heal up by next season enough to be the second line center we all hoped he would be.

When the Kings signed him I was hoping that he would return to his former self; you know, the guy who was a good defensive/shut-down type player that could chip in a few goals. Unfortunately that hasn't happened. I thought it was a good signing by LA at the time but now I have been proven wrong.
The dude had two good seasons in Philly and is making a career off that alone.
I don't expect alot from this guy, maybe 10-15 goals a season and somewhere around 40 points. But I certainly expect to see better play without the puck and on the defensive end of the game.
This guy snowed DL into thinking his wanky knee could still handle the role. $4 mil a season...what a friggin' joke.
Handzus has been contributing on the defensive zone - sacrificing the body to block shots, killing penalties, etc. He's saved us a goal more than once.
I know the guy missed an entire season but shouldnt he back in "game shape" after 60 games?
As i said in my previous post, it seems to be more of a confidence issue in the offensive end, as a defensive forward/pk'er hes been great, now he just needs to get his scoring touch back
