Phantoms' defenseman Denis Gauthier probably
Phantoms' defenseman Denis Gauthier probably will go through recall waivers, Holmgren said. Gauthier would be a steal for some other club, costing only half of his $2.1 million salary, and just $1.05 million next year, with the Flyers picking up the other half.
Gauthier is likely going to be brought up to replace Modry in the lineup for the next couple of weeks because Mo has a shoulder strain.
#6/7 guy who is younger than Modry and makes less, and it would be a pretty underhanded thing to do to the Flyers... what say you?
Damn, Gauthier has really fallen from grace. I would, why not? Just to **** with the Flyers if nothing else. Besides, it'll make the remaining games a little more fun to watch if the Kings have a defensemen who can hit besides Johnson.
Yes, please. We need a few guys who will deliver the 'questionable' hit from time to time. Tough luck on the Flyers part, what with Modry going down for a spell..
Edit: That would be a somewhat underhanded thing to do to the Flyers, who have been an amicable trading partner for us over the last few years. Although, when you look closer, maybe we've just been duped into taking their trash out for them(Roenick/Cechmanek)?
