Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy, given to the NHL player who best exemplifies the qualities
modry? I admit I don't know much about the trophy, but he isn't even a king anymore
it's for the player who has persevered. perhaps they nominated him because he was the best d-man for a good part of his time as a king this year and he's had to deal with his father being ill.
Actually anyone who renewes their Kings' Season Tickets should be nominated.
Nah, that's for the King Clancy award:
The King Clancy Memorial Trophy is awarded annually to the National Hockey League player who best exemplifies leadership qualities on and off the ice and who has made a significant humanitarian contribution in his community.
Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy, given to the NHL player who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to hockey.

"Ugh, helllooooo ..... What am I, the reincarnation of Rodney Dangerfield? You want perseverance & dedication? How about a guy who spent all of his 20's kicking around the AHL, IHL, and Europe -- winning scoring championships at all levels -- waiting for a sniff of the show while my parent club, the NY Rangers, was handing out retirement contracts to the likes of Kevin Stevens (so he could fuel his jones for sniffing blow off the a$$es of street whores). Finally, I gets a shot on the injury-riddled 2002-04 Kings teams, and just as the club's youth is starting to jell while management keeps promoting the importance of 'veteran leadership', I can't even get an 'A' on my sweater 'cause Dean Lombardi was too distracted worrying about his 'reserve list', whatever the hell that is. ..... But do I complain? Nooooooo! Why not? Because I'm full of perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to hockey, ****ers!"
