Third-year goaltender Martin Jones has received a last-minute invitation from the Los Angeles Kings to join their rookie camp.
"It's exciting to get a chance," beamed the six-foot-three, 185-pounder from North Vancouver following a 90-minute skate with several of his teammates Wednesday at Don Hartman SportsPlex.
"It just happened in the last couple days . . . my agent called me on my way to a workout, so I was pretty excited worked out really hard."
Jones, who backed up Dan Spence the past two seasons, was expected by many to be drafted this summer, but his name was never called.
