I emailed Iain MacIntyre about the article he wrote about Dan Cloutier and he wrote me back with the following comments. I will paraphrase him at this time, however, if the experts here tell me I can copy his direct email response than I will.
My email sent to him is as follows:
"I just read your article on Dan Cloutier and am amazed at how one sided it was. You made it seem that the King's sabotaged Dan and ruined his career. The truth is that the Kings signed him for a decent amount of money and a decent length of contract. In my opinion, he was damaged goods from the start. Was he injured prior to getting to Los Angeles and never told anyone? He was terrible from the start and let in so many bad goals that it was embarrassing. We later find out that he was hurt and needed surgery. When he returned this year, he was terrible from the start. The Kings send him down to get his game back. Who knows why he didn't play more but it could have been that he was complaining of health issues or whatever. For him to whine about the Kings not paying for an apartment is a joke. If he wanted what was best for his family, he should have gotten an apartment using his ridiculously high salary and not waiting to bleed the Kings more. By the way, the fans of Los Angeles (a rabid and knowledgeable group) are not fans of Dan Cloutier and would love to see him shipped out.
P.S.
To say that Los Angeles is Hockey Purgatory is shameful. Just ask Wayne Gretsky, Marty McSorley, Butch Goring, Luc R and a host of others, and they will tell you that playing for the Kings was a joy. By the way, how many last place teams sell out games at the end of a season? Oh, that's right. The Kings do!"
Iain MacIntyre's paraphrased response to my email is as follows:
In regards to the purgatory comment, he says he was not referring to LA or the Kings but he was referring to the minors and the injured list as being purgatory. He says he is a columnist and can be one-sided if it suits him. He purposely did not write a balanced article by presenting both side's version of the facts. Instead, he wanted to write an article that reflected Cloutier's perspective and to make sure Dan's disillustionment and disappointment came through. He said that the damaged goods argument had been floated before but he did not buy the argument. He felt that if Dan had been injured before he got to the Kings, the Canucks would have had months to treat his hip. He said that they traded Dan because they acquired Luongo and not because he was injured.

And yet, this won't stop anyone from bitching about Cloutier's "bitching" and "ripping" the team.
And from what I know, I can't think of a reason why posting the response would be disallowed. It wouldn't be violating any copyright laws, and since this was sent to you, it's your property.
