About This Page: This is a discussion on LA Kings Talk within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. Schenn would be great, but not at #2. AND.... we do not draft down the #2 to take him when we have Bogosian, or Doughty in our lap.
I mentioned

I mentioned it in another thread, and agree with the following... though, I would add that there are other strond defensemen currently ranked 10-30.

The chances of us getting two of the top four Dmen in the draft are pretty slim. We are gonna have offer something pretty rediculous to get atlanta or the blues to give up their picks. I dont think DL is willing to give up that much.
I do think we have a chance at lower rounders 5-10. Its in these selections that i think we have a decent shot at trading for. Schenn should be available still here, and so should Tyler Myers. Doughy or Pietrangelo to compliment either of those two would be great. Also, Schenn and Hickey do have history together, it may be something small, but its just one of a million factors DL has already been considering.
I agree with you. I think one(Schenn) of the "Big 4" will fall out of the Top 10 and when that happens I see Lombardi moving up and snagging the last of top dmen.
What would we (D.L.) ask for in return If we wanted to trade down to select Schenn?
What do other teams around the seventh pick have, that we want (in order to swap picks) that they would give up?
I was listening to XM today and apparently Cliff Fletcher told the media that there were going to be major changes in Toronto and that there would be a lot of new faces in training camp next year etc. etc. Yes, a lot of hyperbole but maybe we trade Cammi and Dallas pick/prospect/number of later picks/ to them for their number 7 pick and take Schenn then if he's still available?
I say we get Doughty or Bogo and try and draft Filatov to play with Fro. Thats if he drops down like Cherepanov did last year it would be a good steal or even trading up if he doesnt go in the top 9.

I DOUBT Fila will drop that much... he's a better prospect than Cherepanov according to most "experts".

Toronto needs a lot of help instead of one player. I would try to do this.
