I was at the game tonight and everyone pretty much played horrible. One thing that got me angry though was the fact that Brown laid someone out and ran away from the conflict. After that Phoenix was throwing bodies at everyone from Kopitar to Frolov to Sully. His instigating will get someone valuable hurt. Brown is at the point where he needs to fill his roll and be able to stand up to the repercussions that result from his hits. Lose the visor and drop the gloves. Ivanans is the only one willing to get his hands dirty on the team. Everyone else is that jackass on the school yard who talks big but won't act. I started liking Brown this year but let's be honest, since he took those 2 games off for his maternity leave, he hasn't been the same. Turnover after turnover (1 which led to a Phoenix goal tonight) and missing big scoring chances. Give him the bench for a game. Boyle has been more productive since he was moved up. Why are we punishing the wrong players?
Flame away.
EDIT: I posted the video on page 2 for those who didn't see.
Sleep it off. Just because Brown can hit someone does not mean he has to fight everyone that he hits. Besides that's not Brown's game and probably never will be and I'm fine with that. There are other players on this team that need to step it up when things get a little rough. I wish Brown had started throwing his weight around in the first to get this team going.

I agree. BUT after the first major hit in the 3rd, one of the Coyotes was ready to thrown down and Brown up and left. That result in a row of hits from Phoenix on anyone that had the puck. Stand up to your actions instead of letting the team take the fall.

and the Kings had the puck and a scoring opportunity. It didn't pan out and if the other player would have been a little bit more aggressive he would have gotten a penalty called against him. The kings need other meat on the team to accept the challenge when it is called out. I would rather have Brown on the ice hitting other players and putting the puck in the net.

I'd agree with you if he was a finesse goal scorer like Kopitar or the artist formally known as Cammalleri. Brown gets too many goals by cleaning the garbage in front of the net and by poor deflections. And let's face it, anyone can rack up assists on Kopitar's line. I'm not saying he isn't a valuable forward but he can afford to follow up on some of his instigating plays.
I completely agree. If Brown wants to step up and be a leader, he has to be willing to stand up for himself and his teammates. He pulled Zeiler **** tonight, running around and laying out hits without stepping up to his responsibility. I was really, really disappointed with that.

I don't know if the camera was on it but after that hit a Coyote stepped up to him and did everything but drop the gloves. Brown boned out. I am not saying Brown should always scrap after a hit but there will be repercussions as a league leader in hits...Stand up to them.
Cammalleri already missed significant time this season due to nobody standing up to the Predators who were abusing Kopitar. Brown was on the ice when this happened but it was the ankle biter Cammalleri who stood up to the fearsome Jeff Zanon.
Damn...either Brown or Kopitar himself were more than capable of shoving Jeff Zanon around. Instead the little guido wound up on the shelf for 2 months. There is a lesson to be learned there. But what do I know.....I'm just a Duck fan.

The dude was taking runs while down 4-0. When you are down 4-0 you should be doing one of two things....you bust balls to get back into the game or you concede and play out the final minutes. Brown decided to take runs and that is going to really piss people off. Nothing noteworthy happened tonight but players around the league take note of that stuff. What he did tonight was pretty weak.....it's not as if he was paying someone back for something that happened earlier in the game or even in a previous game. He was just being a douche. Not good man.
