About This Page: This is a discussion on LA Kings Talk within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. a brief props was given to the Kings by XM Radio personality Mick Kern on the XM Home Ice Blog...
he had a list of short musings all beginning with &
i said at the beginning of this season to my friends who somewhat follow hockey that the kings will have the cup in 5 years. They all laughed and said there's no chance. I still believe think we'll see the cup in LA within 4 more seasons.

I would settle for a run at the cup.........you know, getting past the second round of the playoffs.
Somewhere, some other schmuck is saying the same thing about every other lower-standing team in the league . . . except for the Maple Leafs.
It's an easy prediction to make, though not accuracy wise. If you're right, you look like a genius, if you're wrong, well they were in the bottom of the standings the year before, what do you expect?
Sometimes those guys at XM run out of interesting things to say. I can't really blame them, having to cover the NHL 24/7. Even Ecklund has a regular spot on a show.
But yes, they never have much good to say about the Maple Leafs.

If you seriously believe this you are out of your mind. what in the last 15 years have the kings done to make you believe this in any way? in 4 seasons i predict the kings will end up 10th in the west with 84 points. thats about it.

1. Stockpiled Draft Picks.
2. Made some good choices.
3. Johnson, Kopitar, Brown, O'Sullivan, Frolov, Boyle
4. Maybe Stamkos
5. Bernier, Hickey, A crop of other prospects
6. It's usually darkest before the dawn
See Islanders 4 cups (built through the draft)
See Colorado 2 Cups (built through the draft)
See New Jersey 3 cups
See Penguins 2 cups
The last 15 years have nothing to do with the next 15 years... Maybe you should watch the team (Kings).
