I dont have a dog in this fight...but geez...how do you say no to an 80 year old lady trying to get in out of the cold and watch the kings...sheesh...even if my boss had said.."NOBODY GETS IN WITHOUT A VALET PASS" id have let you two in...
My mom would have smacked me twice for refusing entry to a little old lady.
Although I have never been to Staples,(Please God, let me go there some day) I agree. How do you NOT let an 80 year old in ANY door? Show some respect you punks!
All you'll get is someone passing the buck to someone else. I've tried to get the game day reports back and everyone I've spoke to says that they have no idea.
Maybe they pay for valet parking at season luxury suites or are connected to people that do so a certain level of service is therefore extended to them?
But what do I know? I'm just a quacker.
I could even accept that if it were true, but anyone can pay for Valet parking, no matter where your seats are. And lets not forget the most important part, there was absolutely no one else in line.. and we are talking about customer service....
It is definitely rude for them to not allow you to enter through a door without a Valet pass. Especially with no lines, and your 80 years young mom. But my question is... have you entered through that very same door before? If not, then they probably never allowed it because it's *set* for Valet Parking. That could explain the no lines in that area, since others know they can't get through that door. Just trying to find some kind of reasoning here for their ridiculous inexcusable act.
In the scheme of things, it really isn't that important, but just one of those things that bug the hell out of you.
My mom and I get to the game, park at the Convention Center, per usual, and approach the door near the valet area. Not the one marked VIP, but the door immediately to the left. There is absolutely no one in either line, so my mom walks up to the door. When I get there, I hear the girl telling her that she can't go in the door because she did not valet park. Now although pretty spry, my mom is 81, and I get annoyed at anyone holding their arm up so she can't get past. I informed the young lady that our seats are in door 7, which is right where we are entering, we are season ticket holders, and that since no one is the line at either door, I wasn't quite sure what the problem was. She demanded that if I wanted to get through the door, she would call her supervisor and I could wait. Now to remind you, the red coats are standing there, and not one of them are saying a word, and in fact, are having a hard time making eye contact.
I took the tickets out of her hands and proceeded to the entrance around the building. Now this would have rubbed me the wrong way anyway, but what really pisses me off is that several games earlier when it was raining, the folks in the purple and black shirts wouldn't let us out the doors behind our seats because those who valet parked needed covering. What the hell?? How do those who valet park rank above those of us who pay for parking AND Season tickets??
I know, no one cares, but it still makes my blood pressure go up.
WOW, That really sucks,
I would of told the gal to call her boss and have him come down and tell an 81 year old Lady Season Ticket PAYER that she can't use that door....
I think her boss is going to help her to her seat, not deny her access.

I actually do go through that door most nights. It never used to be open, but since they opened it, I thought, what the hell.
I think the consensus on this board is that it shouldn't have been done, but no one will care about it, so I guess I should take the sympathy you have all given me and move on, however the next time they have a game in Europe, my mother won't be boarding the plane again anytime soon!!!
