Could that be us, being that we are most likely second overall?
Nobody will know until draft day, and even then, nobody may ever know. By the way, I never made it to the tootsie roll center of a tootsie pop without biting.
According to TSN's Bob McKenzie he is out for a month due to illness. Word on the street is he contracted Mono and was in the hospital....
mononucleosis and a tear in the spleen are worlds apart. especially when draft/training camp/opening day rosters are concerned... hell people dropped harder in the draft for farting on their coach at an inopportune time.
the teams scouting him hard better hope it's mono.

I wouldn't infer too much. Other teams still have to make rankings even if they have no shot at drafting in the top 5. If anything, those teams are probably a lot less guarded with who they have at the top. I remember seeing a brief draft video from 2003 between Carolina and Atlanta's GM regarding who the #1 player was. Atlanta was picking #8 and was just making conversation with "Yeah, we have Staal #1 too."

Psst. I know. But where's the fun of a thread if I didn't at least ask the question...
Well, if we get the 2nd pick... maybe it is team #3 and they want to pay a heavy price to move up one spot. Could be win, win.
No team is going to pay a "heavy price" to move up one single spot in the draft order if history has any say in it. Even moving the #1 hasn't netted much in return beyond an additional pick or two and a second-tier prospect, if even that.
