I think they really should play Cloutier at least half of the remaining games. Who knows, he may play amazing, but he'll still lose at least half of them. The Kings'll find out if Cloutier still has what it takes (not that he hasn't got chances to prove that already), they'll tank, and LaBarbera will still get a chance to play some games so he doesn't feel left out.
Don't put Ersberg in net JUST to tank. If they want to do that, put Blake in net. Heck, put Crawford in net. It isn't like Ersberg is going to magically become anything more than a AHL goalie because of some experience on the last place team in the league.
