They beat Italy 2-1 today in Maribor in a game that lacked intensity for the most part. Anze Kopitar cleverly assisted on the first goal and played well overall and was also visibly the most skilled player on the ice. He was used a lot on the penalty kill and made two very clever moves on an Italian 5-on-3 to defuse the situation.
I'll post the link to the highlights if any of the news sites uploads them.

The assist was a typical Kopi assist imo. Drew all Italians, goalie included, on himself and passed to Razingar for the empty netter.
Poor Italians tried some dirty moves on our top forwards, but the team responded immediately to them (one was against Kopitar) and Italians cooled down.
BTW, question for knowledgeable Slovenian fans... at one point Slovenian national team held a world record for most penalty minutes (by both teams) in a single game. It was a game against Ukraine some time ago, I remember it very clearly. But I don't remember the actual amount of penalty minutes, can somebody help here? It had to be 200+ for each of the teams... I know that the next game played against Ukraine was equally rough - if it wasn't a new world record, it was a top 3-4 ever. Ah... gotta love those times, here's a beer for our Ukrainian friends...

The goals are at the end, but it's a bad quality, you can't see anything. The majority of video seems to be last 30 seconds of the match. Our goalie seems to be in good shape.

I think there were around 236 penalty minutes in that game
BTW: Kopitar was simply amazing against Italy tonight. Which shouldn't come as a surprise...

"Poor" Italians? The poor italians would kick your arse without Kopi...bud, it's not that all of a sudden you've become a hockey powerhouse.
Sorry before you all play soggy biscuits over this one, it was Italy and it was by one goal in a exhibition match, yet here some of you are making ridiculous soccer references.
Poor Italians, yeah. I remember 10 years back, when half of Italian national team players knew only how to say "please" and "thanks" in Italian language. Canadians all the way. For me teams like Italy and Japan are poor hockey countries because of that. And Italy has 6900+ hockey players, while Slovenia has 900 registered players. Canada 545000 hockey players. USA 451000. Germany 29400 players... Yeah, I'd say Slovenia is pretty much a powerhouse with 900 registered players.
But to be honest, the word "poor" was used because of the dirty stuff Italians started to use. Sign of weakness in this case. Italocanadian team has always been somewhere around Slovenian strength level. With or without Kopitar Jr.
