About This Page: This is a discussion on LA Kings Talk within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. When I first registered for LetsGoKings.com I asked if anybody remembered trading a blank Kings 3rd jersey (the purple one with the crown on the front) for a blank
When I first registered for LetsGoKings.com I asked if anybody remembered trading a blank Kings 3rd jersey (the purple one with the crown on the front) for a blank white Red Wings jersey. It would have happened at a preseason game against the Phoenix Coyotes in September of 2002.
The only response I got was from the usual wisenheimers accusing me of "gaying" up the site.
So now I'm going to try again...
I was hosting this Turkish dude named Mustafah for a couple of weeks and I took him to a preseason game. I had just bought a Red Wings jersey I had found for $14 at a vintage clothing store in Hollywood. I wasn't looking for it... nor would I have ever worn it... but hey..... $14 for a jersey? How could I pass on that?
Anyway... he wore the Red Wing jersey to the game because it was the only jersey I owned that was close to Turkeys colors (red n white).
During the 1st intermission he stepped out to smoke a cigarette and came back saying some drunk Kings fan offered to trade jerseys with him. The Kings fan reasoned that it would be better to send him back to Turkey with a Kings jersey rather than the hated Red Wings jersey. So he offered to make the trade despite the fact that his girlfriend had bought him the Kings jersey he was wearing.
They made the trade.
Now seriously.........
WHERE THE HELL IS THIS GUY??? I've been half heartedly looking for him for 5+ years now.
What the hell were you doing hosting a Turkish male? Kidding, kidding. Interesting story. Perhaps it was CDMauger who gave the turk the jersey.
I spent the summer working in Alaska. So did he. He had never been to the States before and had two weeks left on his Visa when the Salmon season was over. I told him he could crash on my couch if he could figure out how to get to Los Angeles.
Turns out the whole time he was sleeping on my couch he was making phone calls to Turkey on my phone. Wound up costing me over $800.
Now I'm bitterly opposed to all things Turkish or named Mustafah.
But I still want to find out who made that trade with him.
