Purcell's salary is $750K
Moulson's salary is $490K
Gauthier's salary is $570K
* I've listed salaries not CAP hits...
Lombardi is probably looking to dump salary at this point not add...

You bring up an interesting point here.
As a whole, are not the Kings paying for Manchester as well? Does it matter where the players are to them?
I say this because of Cloutier being in Manchester must make the owners crazy that they have invested that much into an minor league player.
In fact, and this is just a little tangent here, but here is a point that I think we kind of gloss over. If there was any question about the Lings upper management wanting to build a winner here, then all you have to do is look at the move they allowed with Cloutier. I have to say, if I was an owner I would tell DL that he made his bed with that stupid contract, he will now have to live with it on the pro payroll. I would be hard pressed to just let him clear that cap space because of a serious mistake. Management allowed him a huge mulligan here in my opinion.

Hey by the way was Jokinen even in the n.h.l., and if so was he doing anything @ Tukonen's age? He's only like 20 or 21 right? He could still blow up...I hope. Remember like 2 or 3 teams gave up on Jokinen and then...all of a sudden...
Jokinen didn't "blow up" until the 2002-2003 season where he popped 36 goals and 29 assists, which was around 24.
1997-98: 8GP (0G - 0A) --> Age 19
1998-99: 66GP (9G - 12A) --> Age 20
1999-00: 82GP (11G - 10A) --> Age 21
2000-01: 78GP (6G - 10A) --> Age 22
2001-02: 80GP (9G - 20A) --> Age 23
On Tukonen, yeah he's still only 21, so there is some hope. But for a 1st round pick, I like to see them put up a point a game in the A by their 2nd year. Tuks has been a consistent .5 point per game guy, that spells bad pick, even if he does becomes a decent NHL 3rd liner.
Jokinen's problem evidently was his work ethic. Only after Kenan challenged him to be the most fit guy on the team, did he turn it around (he became the 2nd most fit, by fat %). I don't think Tuks has that problem. He might just never be an NHL top 6er.

How much has Lombardi spent on goaltending since he signed Cloutier? Exactly, not much. Lombardi has a payroll budget and Cloutier counts toward the budget...
