About This Page: This is a discussion on LA Kings Talk within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. A couple thoughts on how bad the Kings production is on the jumbotron for games.
1) The video they project on the ice should also be projected on the jumbotron.
A couple thoughts on how bad the Kings production is on the jumbotron for games.
1) The video they project on the ice should also be projected on the jumbotron. People in the lower seating cannot see ANYTHING!
2) Why is there never video of our great history or great moments? How about a Dave Taylor goal with some Marcel Dionne? A Bernie Nichols goal vs Edmonton in the playoffs with a pumpernickel. A Gretzky goal from the countless big ones he scored for us? A Luc goal. The Deadmarsh goal.
Why not let in fans on some of these great images throughout the boring stoppages and promotions to show what great history this team has. Whoever is in charge of this should be fired and replaced for next season!
Agree?

I sure think that some Kings history should be played on the jumbotron.
Off topic...in the kings calander this year...I wish there were game shots of the players instead of them modeling in a studio. ...That's kinda the same thing, right?
I love the opening segments but do agree. I was at the Sharks game and was sitting in the 6th row and I couldn't see ****. I only knew what was happening because I memorized the sequence by now but I agree that it should be on the jumbotron and I would like to see more of the King's history embedded into it. I think the first half should be King's history and then the second half should be modern videos right before they are announced. The music would match it too.
Aw, let us poor people in the cheap seats have something. The ice projection looks SWEET from the 300s!

GO KINGS GO!!!
Hahahaha. I hear ya. I didn't say eliminate it from the ice but maybe show it also on a couple of the screens so EVERYONE can actually see what's going on. Damn Staples!
I agree, the on ice projection stuff is pretty cool. Do any other teams have anything remotely similar? Also, I seem to remember 'Today in Kings History' some time ago that would be on between periods with that kind of stuff.
Not that I have anything against Bernie and the pumpernickel, I think that the jumbotron stuff should focus on the current team not teams of old. It sends a mixed message to show the old stuff, as if the current team doesn't have any highlights of their own...(whether or not they have any good ones not withstanding).

I agree. Don't make it like a past Kings seasons hilite show but maybe one great moment from Kings past every game or so? Or like you said, ''today in kings history'' or a ''great moments in kings history'' Hell. Show Kopitars goal from the comeback against Dallas. Did we see that once on the jumbotron after it happened? Or any of the OT goals the Kings scored this season or last. I think the jumbotron is much more money driven now than it was in past years. Everything is a money making promotion or ad rather than visual appealing video for the fan. Damn shame.
i like the on-ice projection too... i agree they should put it up on the jumbotron. practically, though, it's a problem: 1) some parts would be upside-down 2) the aspect ratio is incredibly different. the ice is like widescreen to the max.
