Yeah, that too. From about 1988-1996 (or 97, I forget) nothing changed and I liked it. After that is when they started introducing new brands like Nike (although Edmonton used Nike in the 80's), Starter, Pro Player, Koho, and RBK.

Can we go back to something that doesn't look like an untucked dress shirt? with or without the lettering it needs to be a straight edge with a stripe.
I guess you can look forward to those "home and home" games against the Sharks and Ducks or whatever. Usually with home and home games. The Kings will wear the whites at home and the Sharks will wear darks. It's just another way to market the jersey.
What WILL happen is that the 3rd alternate jerseys will return so the Kings will probably be wearing that at least 15 to 20% of their games (I would guess) to market it.
I am partial to the black jersey. I am anxious to see the new third jersey. I wonder if it will be primarily purple like years past? Personally I think it would be cool if the third jersey was primarily silver like the jersey's the Kings Crew wore a couple of seasons ago, but with the shield logo.
I'm looking foward to the 3rd jersey too. I wanted to get a new RBK jersey but wasn't sure which to get, as long as the 3rd ain't too ugly, that's probably going to be my choice.
I actually prefer the home team in their dark colors.
But, someone a few months back (or more) made a great argument about the visiting team showing off their colors, making for a changing experience from game to game.
Especially with the current white sweaters all looking sooo similar having lost the horizontal piping.
(did that turn anyone else on?)
For that reason alone, I would change to white...but not for the traditionalist view.
I only hope that whomever is in charge of design keeps away from the numbers on the front of the jersey. We're not playing soccer or footbal. I hate the way Buffalo, San Jose, Dallas, Tampa and NYI have added that to their design. Its too much on the front of the jersey.
