Inspired by the custom chopper movement, the 2008 Yamaha Star RAIDER, the L.A. Kings “Ice Bike,” is a custom performance cruiser loaded with horsepower, superior rider comfort and lots of chrome.
Powered by a huge 113 cubic inch fuel injected V Twin engine with 9.48:1 compression, the “Ice Bike” is a five speed with belt drive. The high-tech all aluminum cast frame is light, rigid and tuned for light, athletic handling. Tires are 120/70-21s in front and a big 210/40-18 in the rear. The seat is 27 inches off the deck!
Sporting an ice sheet look overlaying the purple and black, various L.A. Kings graphics are displayed throughout the paint including hockey pucks streaking across the ice. Team players from the Kings have further personalize the Ice Bike by autographing the fuel tank and side panels. The “Ice Bike” was painted by Jim Ogawa of Ogawa Designs in Sanger, Calif. He has won many awards for his incredible paint and unique designs.
The unique billet wheels have the L.A. Kings Crown cut into the design of the billet. The wheels have been custom cut by Sinister Wheel in Turlock, Calif. These wheels rock! The custom seat was made by Rocky’s in Clovis, Calif. Additional chrome accessories were plated by MecLec in Clovis, Calif. The custom exhaust is by Tejas Thump Cycles in Meadow, Texas and is about as cool as it gets.
Assembly, mechanical considerations and build out were performed by Yamaha 99 in Madera, Calif. Master technician David Reed made sure she was ready to rumble.
The “Ice Bike” has been graciously donated by Dr. Robert S. Bray, Jr., D.I.S.C. Spine and Sports Center, the Official Medical Center of the Los Angeles Kings and Yamaha 99.
